4:20 collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no crash reporting, and no advertising or analytics SDKs. Nothing you do in 4:20 is reported to anyone.
The app contains no networking at all. It cannot upload, sync, check in, or phone home, because there is no code in it that talks to a network. Everything it does happens on your iPhone or iPad, and everything it knows stays there.
4:20 reads SMPTE LTC timecode, which arrives as an audio signal over a wired input. iOS treats every audio input, wired line input included, as microphone access, so the system asks for that permission the first time you start the reader.
The audio is decoded into timecode on the device, in real time. It is not recorded, not stored, and not transmitted. When the reader stops, the audio is gone.
4:20 can produce a diagnostics file, and only when you ask it to. The export goes nowhere unless you send it yourself. It contains decode statistics and audio route information recorded by port type, never by any name you have given a device.
The only thing 4:20 stores is its own settings, on the device. Deleting the app removes them. There is nothing held anywhere else for us to delete on your behalf, because we never had it.
If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
